  • Herbal medicine is the use of plants, herbs and fungi to treat and provide relief in poor health conditions and illness.

  • Yes, though I prefer to see you in person if possible, particularly for the first session.

  • Herbal medicine is safe when used appropriately. Some plant remedies are very gentle, and some can have much more powerful effects. An experienced herbalist will always use these with awareness. Unexpected reactions of various kinds can occasionally occur.

  • This can vary enormously, often depending on the complexity of your condition and how long you have been suffering with it. Usually you will start to see some improvement after a month of starting treatment, sometimes sooner. It can take months or sometimes years for further/lasting healing to occur.

  • Yes, I can treat children. There is no minimum age.

  • Yes. People often come with more than one symptom or diagnosis.

  • Yes, herbs can provide relief during the perimenopause and menopause years.

  • Yes. If we can understand what is causing your sleep issues, I can help you find ways to improve this.

  • Yes, but it does depend on your condition and what medication you are taking. The choice of herbs may be limited in some situations to avoid any potential herb/drug interaction. Herbs can also sometimes be used to alleviate the side effects of certain drugs.

  • Yes. You should keep both your GP and your herbalist/complementary therapist informed of all treatments and remedies you are using.

  • Both therapies use natural substances, but Homeopathy uses remedies that are highly diluted in order to trigger a healing response in the body, based on the principle of ‘like treats like’. That’s when a substance which can cause symptoms taken in large doses, is used in small amounts to treat similar symptoms.
